My practice focuses on civil litigation. I have experience litigating and advising on a variety of issues involving insurance defense (including bad faith litigation, breach of contract claims and third-party claims), coverage analyses and property claims. I thoroughly enjoy motions practice, analyzing claim files, and creating strong and effective game plans with my clients geared towards successful results.
A quote to live by and to work toward: “Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” — Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Outside of work, I am an avid reader and am an active member of four book clubs, focusing on reading general fiction and nonfiction, classics, and classics by women written before 2000. I am also a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America. I love analyzing these texts and having discussions with people of all ages. In connection with my memberships in book clubs, I started a newsletter and write book reviews for my local bookstore in Parker, Colorado. I really enjoy traveling internationally and throughout the United States. It is a goal of mine to visit all 50 states and every continent. A lot of my time is also spent exploring Colorado with my husband and two Labrador Retrievers.
I carry these skills and use them to guide me in my legal practice, whether it’s by analyzing discovery materials, writing litigation reports, finding the right questions to ask a deponent, reaching the right tone at mediation or connecting with people of different ages and backgrounds. I use my itinerary planning skills in my legal practice every day in making discovery plans and full case chronologies, which guide me and my coworkers to resolutions of cases. I tackle my case load like I do my lengthy “to be read” list, with motivation and dedication.
I graduated summa cum laude from Centenary University (Hackettstown, New Jersey) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing and Sports Management. I earned my J.D. from New England Law | Boston (cum laude), where I served as an editor on the New England Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement. As a member of this journal, I wrote and published an article titled, Athletes Sacked by Moral Turpitude Clauses: Presumed Guilty Unless Proven Innocent, 41 New Eng. J. on Crim. & Civ. Confinement 367 (2015). I am admitted to practice before the Colorado State and Federal Courts, Connecticut State Courts, Massachusetts State Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.
Growing up, I played competitive AAU basketball with the Connecticut Storm and the Connecticut Gold and was recruited to play in college. During college, I developed an annual Sports Management Conference involving panelists in various positions in the sports world and worked as a game-day intern for the Connecticut Sun, a WNBA team. Through this internship, I was responsible for assisting with game promotions, MVP voting, and fan engagement. I have also completed internship/contests with the NCAA March Madness tournament, NASCAR/M&M/Camping World, Preston Parks & Recreation Department, Quinnipiac University Bookstore, Greater Boston Legal Services, and Suffolk County Superior Court. Before moving to Colorado, I lived in Boston and worked at an insurance defense firm in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
I use my work experiences and background in sports to guide the way I tackle a new case. I always work on my game and continue to analyze the field of play to make educated recommendations to my clients.
