A lifelong love of learning, my fierce determination to conquer obstacles and a knack for unraveling and solving problems are a few of the reasons I was drawn to the legal profession. Applying unique fact patterns to the ever-shifting landscape of statutory and case law suits my talents more completely than anything I have ever done.
I graduated from The University of Denver with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology and Business. I worked for a handful of different companies in my ‘first’ career, primarily in positions involving sales and marketing. I worked for a decade with a small advertising specialty company and was instrumental in taking it from a startup to a highly successful, multi-faceted firm. For my ‘encore’ career, I wanted to do something to challenge myself and decided to pursue my long-standing interest in the law.
Out of law school, I became a felony criminal prosecutor specializing in crimes against children, domestic violence assaults,
and sexual assaults. I valued the work I did in public interest law. I still work as a Pro Tem judge in Westminster Municipal court, which allows me to continue work in the public sector, handling a wide variety of claims from civil ordinance violations to low-level domestic violence matters.
I am able to draw heavily on my experience in business and in criminal prosecution every day as a civil litigator. My work as a judge strengthens my ability to step outside the role of advocate and consider the viewpoint of a third-party neutral.
I view my whole life as an adventure. I have been fortunate to have had a wide variety of experiences and journeys during my life. I look with equal gratitude on all the good and bad things that I have lived through, because each has taught me something more about myself.
